AI consulting across Australia
We work with Australian businesses from our office in Helensvale on the Gold Coast, Queensland. South-east Queensland gets in-person sessions at short notice; the other capitals are served remotely, with on-site visits at key milestones.
Australia has no AI-specific law, but the Privacy Act reforms and new state privacy schemes are changing what organisations must disclose about automated decisions. Each city page below covers the local industries and rules.

Privacy Act reforms and AI
The rules that shape AI projects in Australia today:
- Privacy Act 1988 and the 2024 reforms
- From 10 December 2026, APP entities must disclose in their privacy policies when personal information is used in automated decisions that significantly affect individuals (APP 1.7 to 1.9).
- No AI Act, for now
- The proposed mandatory guardrails for high-risk AI were withdrawn. The Australian AI Safety Institute is advisory, and AI use remains governed by privacy, consumer, anti-discrimination and sector law.
- State schemes
- Queensland’s QPPs and breach scheme, WA’s PRIS Act, NSW’s PPIP Act and HRIPA, and Victoria’s Health Records Act each add obligations for the public sector, its contractors or health providers.
