Colorado · remote and on-site delivery

AI consulting for Denver and Colorado businesses

Colorado passed the first broad state AI law in the country and has spent the time since rewriting it. If you employ people or serve customers here, the practical question is what to do while the rules are still moving. Our answer is to keep the records you would need under any version of the law, and to avoid automating consequential decisions without a person in the loop.

We work with Front Range companies in aerospace, energy, healthcare, outdoor and consumer brands, and with the professional firms that serve them. Delivery is remote with on-site days in Denver, Boulder or Colorado Springs.

Industries we work with in Denver

Aerospace and defense suppliers

Document-heavy engineering and quality processes, often with export-control limits that rule out public AI services.

Private AI

Healthcare and insurance

Claims, prior authorizations and member service, where coverage decisions are exactly the kind the Colorado law treats as consequential.

Rules that apply in Colorado

What we check during discovery for Denver clients, and how it changes the design.

Colorado AI Act (SB 24-205, replaced by SB 26-189)
The original 2024 Act was repealed and replaced by SB 26-189, signed May 14, 2026, which applies to consequential decisions from January 1, 2027. The Attorney General’s rulemaking hearing is set for October 26, 2026, and enforcement is currently stayed by a federal court order in xAI v. Weiser. Expect further change before the start date.
Colorado Privacy Act
Gives consumers the right to opt out of profiling used for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, and requires data protection assessments for that kind of processing.
Federal context
Executive Order 14365 (December 2025) directs federal agencies to challenge state AI laws seen as burdensome. It does not by itself change what Colorado law requires of you.

General information, checked October 2026. Not legal advice; laws and dates change, so confirm with your own counsel. See our AI regulatory compliance overview for more.

Typical Denver projects

  • Consequential-decision mapping

A list of every process where AI influences hiring, lending, insurance, housing, healthcare or education outcomes, with a human review step designed for each.

  • Impact assessment templates

Assessment and notice templates that fit both the Colorado Privacy Act and the expected AI Act rules, kept current as the rulemaking settles.

  • Export-controlled document search

Engineering document retrieval deployed on your own hardware so controlled technical data never leaves your network.

Questions from Denver businesses

Should we wait for the Colorado AI Act to settle?
You do not need to stop using AI, but it is worth keeping an inventory and keeping a person responsible for consequential decisions now. Those steps help under every version of the law that has been proposed.
Can you deploy AI without using a public cloud model?
Yes. We deploy open-weight models on your own servers or private cloud, which suits aerospace and defense suppliers with export-control obligations.
